Customer brought us his 2006 Mercedes-Benz ML350 with a check engine light followed by engine noise. After our diagnostics we found balance shaft has failed.
This is a very common issue with the Mercedes M272 and M273 motors up to 2008.
Here you can see that the balance shaft gears are completely gone! We don’t know how this car was still running with no gears. But luckily customer made it just in time before catastrophic engine damage…
